Britney Spears Speaks OUT.
Britney Spears’ younger sister is speaking out on behalf of her world famous sibling. One of the world’s most popular music sensations openly admitted that she was depressed due to the “abusive” day-to-day ramifications of a court-ordered conservatorship.
Britney Spears asked a judge on June 23 to end the court conservatorship that had been over her life and finances since 2008.
Jamie Lynn Spears, Spears’ sister, has expressed her support for her sibling’s emotional request to the judge since it was made public.
Despite a ten-year age difference, the sisters are said to have remained close over the years. Jamie Lynn told CNN that she is proud of her sister for speaking out.
“Now that she’s very clearly spoken and said what she needed to say, I feel like I can follow her lead and say what I feel I need to say,” the actress and country music singer wrote on Instagram.
Spears levelled a barrage of accusations at her conservator/father during last week’s hearing, alleging that he used his power over her in the same way a sex trafficker would.
Spears said she was forced to perform, take medication, and attend therapy against her will.
Under the conservatorship, Spears said she was forced to perform, take medication, and attend therapy against her will.
Jamie Lynn, Spears’ younger sister, said in a video posted Monday that she had previously spoken to Spears about hiring a new attorney after the singer’s longtime lawyer, Samuel D. Ingham, was appointed by the court.
Jamie Lynn wrote in the post, “I’m so proud of her for using her voice.” “Like I told her many years ago, I’m so proud of her for seeking new counsel. Oh, not on a public stage, but in a private exchange between two sisters. If she wants to be happy, she can end the conservatorship and fly to Mars or whatever else she wants to do.
The star of Sweet Magnolia then defended her decision not to speak publicly about her sister’s conservatorship in the past.
“I can assure you that I supported my sister long before there was a hashtag and I will support her long after there is a hashtag,” the star said.
“Let’s keep praying,” Jamie Lynn said at the end of her message. “That’s all there is to it.”
During the older Spears’ appeal to a judge last Wednesday, she said she wanted to sue her “whole family” and used an expletive to reiterate her belief that no one in her family had ever come to her aid over the years.
