Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton, one of music’s most talked-about couples, have married in a private ceremony over the weekend, according to reports.
On July 3, 2021, photos of Shelton’s Oklahoma home revealed it had been re-decorated as the ultimate wedding destination, complete with a tiny little chapel built specifically for the occasion and surrounded by an outdoor seating area adorned with white flowers. While the newlyweds were not photographed, Stefani’s parents and several musicians were seen being transported to and from the event.
According to TMZ, the couple, who got engaged in October 2020, applied for their wedding licence on June 29. Their sources claimed that the couple was planning a July 4 weekend wedding. To commemorate their big day, the stars planned a “entire weekend of activities and celebrations.”
Gwen Stefani and Shelton met while working as judges on NBC’s “The Voice”
Stefani and Shelton met while working as judges on NBC’s “The Voice,” where they had both recently divorced. They started dating soon after, and their first red carpet appearance as a couple was at the Vanity Fair Oscar after-party in February 2016.
From there, their relationship grew stronger, and Shelton even credited Stefani with saving his life. The country singer explained to Billboard how the breakup of their previous relationships helped them form a strong bond. “From there, we went from checking in on each other once a week via email […] to maybe three times a week, then every day,” he said. “The next thing I know, she’s all I can think about, and I’m wondering if she feels the same way about me.”
Shelton continued, “Gwen, save my life.” “Who else on the face of the planet could comprehend going through a high-profile divorce from another musician?” You can’t imagine how much our divorces are alike.”
