Police in the Western Cape arrested a married couple after discovering two dagga plantations near Philippi, Cape Town.

On Sunday, police responded to a tip about a possible hijacked truck at a home in the Siqalo informal neighbourhood.

“During their search, the members discovered 19.38 unique rounds of ammo concealed in a closet, as well as 23 brand new washing machines. The owner and his wife were unable to show receipts for the washing machines.”

The man’s wife, 44, was also arrested.

The couple is scheduled to appear in Athlone Magistrate’s Court shortly.
