PERENARA

TJ Perenara, an experienced scrumhalf, has been added to the All Blacks squad by coach Ian Foster ahead of this weekend’s tour fixture against Scotland.

The 30-year-old has played 78 Tests and has been called up from the All Blacks XV, New Zealand’s second-string team, which beat Ireland A 47-19 in Dublin last weekend.

“We’re bringing TJ here to replace Brad because there was a prearranged plan to give both of them a few of weeks with us (in the All Blacks team),” Foster told reporters.

Along with Weber, winger Leicester Fainga’anuku has departed the senior New Zealand squad to join the All Blacks XV in preparation for their match against the Barbarians.

Perenara was a member of the New Zealand squad that won the Rugby World Cup in 2015, and he last played for the All Blacks a year ago in a loss to Ireland in Dublin.

After playing the Scots in Edinburgh on Sunday, the All Blacks have six days before their final tour encounter against England at Twickenham.
