Police were called to a farm in Odendaalsrus on Wednesday after a resident cutting wood discovered a woman with her throat slit, according to police spokesperson Captain Stephen Thakeng.
“Members were directed to a location where the body of an unknown African woman, possibly 28 years old, was discovered. The deceased was wearing a wedding ring. The deceased’s clothes were scattered around the scene, and her throat had been slit “Thakeng stated.
Police believe the woman was raped, and a murder investigation has been launched.
There is no one missing, and police have urged the woman’s relatives to come forward.
The woman behind the wheel of the BMW has yet to be identified. She was 36 years old, of medium build, and dressed in a grey long-sleeved jersey and black jeans.
