Kevin Lerena of South Africa is the new IBO Intercontinental Heavyweight champion after defeating Mariusz Wach of Poland on Saturday in Johannesburg.

The 30-year-old won by a score of 120-108, with two judges siding with him and the third siding with Lerena.

“I had good preparation for the fight,” Lerena said afterward.

“I have no fear of man; I am not intimidated in the least.” It’s just a fight, and skills win on the night.”
